Third Pastry ❥ special valentine's day video

[The camera feed clicks on to Jane, Tenten, and a Bisharp. Jane looks awfully cheerful, as does Tenten. They finally got to meet up and as promised- Jane is teaching Tenten how to make chocolate. Sure the gifts would be a little late, BUT WHATEVER.]

Happy Valentine's day to everyone out there!

[Tenten’s not been the most successful one in the kitchen. Her fingers and forearms are coated in chocolate (how is a mystery for the ages), and there’s what’s probably cocoa powder smeared on her nose and cheeks (another mystery).]

Yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day! I guess? [Really she’s not all that sure why she’s on video for this other than to brag about their chocolate-making attempts?? Jane could totally have handled this part on her own.]

[Through convincing and flattery they have gotten Dart (the Bisharp) to wear an apron and help them out- so that probably looks pretty funny. Jane is pretty sure she explained to Tenten why they had to get on camera for this one, but it doesn’t matter. THEY NEEDED TO SAY HI TO THEIR KANTO FRIENDS SOMEHOW.]

We’ve actually made quite a lot and have some extras. So we highly encourage that you get in contact with us about getting some before we run out. [She holds up the tray, LOOK AT THESE. They are definitely heart shaped and knife shaped chocolates. Can you tell who made what. I bet you can’t.]

Some of you guys need to keep an eye out for a Pokémon headed your way. I already attached a couple boxes to them and sent them out, but since we only got them done today, it’s gonna be a little late. If you got a message from me, you know you’re getting something, I guess?

[Wow way to be exclusionary Tenten. Amazing.]

Anyone else can just ask. [And she glances toward Jane because hey, the other girl is the one who made sure the chocolates actually looked like what they’re supposed to be shaped like and that they won’t have a poison filling. And that they’ll taste good on top of all that.]

[Jane goes to end the feed, that is until one of those goo-like Pokemon just, falls in front of the camera. Jane nearly shrieks at the sight, taking a step back and observing the little goo pile looking back up at her. More at Jane’s shriek than at the sight of the Pokémon itself, Tenten grabs the closest weapon-like thing she can find -- a cooking spoon left to rest in one of the bowls from mixing the chocolate -- and points it at the little blob. Splattering chocolate on it and the camera in the process.]

[She manages to restrain her laughter at Tenten's appearance, only to fall to random chuckling moments later at their reaction to the Pokemon's sudden appearance.]

I... I apologize, girls. [Snicker.] But I promise you those little ones are hardly cause for concern.

Tenten, I didn't know you could bake, by the way.

[It's a bit before Tenten gets back to the video, since they need the time to Analyze the Bloober. Bloobers are strange (potentially dangerous) creatures after all!!]

I dunno, they seem pretty suspicious to me. It's like every time I turn around there's a whole swarm of them. Group? [She shrugs. Who even knows.]

But anyway, yeah! I can bake! I'm better at cooking though, honestly, I never did much baking at home. Jane's helped me a lot.

It's true, there are quite a lot of them roaming around about now... They don't really seem interested in attacking, though. Just heading to some sort of location, I haven't really been able to figure out where.

[It hasn't escaped her notice that they all seem to be heading in the same direction, however.]

See, I'm actually the opposite there. Baking is essentially science, so I'm quite good at it, though not quite as good as my friend Pinkie Pie. Cooking I'm not exactly awful at, but I'm not really an expert or anything.

Yeah, I don't know. They're kind of cute, if messy... [And she casts a sideways glance to something off screen -- probably Jane -- and shakes her head.]

Still! Maybe they'll evolve into something really powerful, so I'll probably try to catch one.

But yeah, baking is really precise for me. I like precision in a lot of things, but when it comes to eating, I guess it's not that important to me. As long as it tastes good and has protein, I'm pretty set.

No more messy than a Grimer or a Muk, and I don't think these ones are poisonous. I could be wrong about that though.

[Darn Pokegear being useless and all.]

That's reasonable. Baking is mostly good for making treats anyway, though there are some exceptions to that rule.

Ugh... I had a Muk a friend left me, once. [Had because she foisted it off on someone else because it was just gross.] At least these guys seem marginally more, uh. Less gross, I guess.

[And a shrug.]

Did you want some chocolate? I mean, where I'm from, girls usually only give guys they like chocolate for Valentine's, but considering I'm breaking it already by giving it to guys who are friends of mine, I guess I could make another exception.

Not exactly difficult to be less gross than a Muk. Not to mention hazardous to one's health.

[Since, you know, poison.]

Sure, I'd love to taste what you made! We don't have "Valentine's" where I come from, but I think Hearts and Hooves Day is similar enough to count. It's mostly a two-way romantic holiday, at least as I understand it. I didn't, uh... participate much.

Ugh, yeah.

[She smiles and nods in response to the chocolate, glancing around the kitchen.]

I'll try to send some out to you later today. Where're you guys, again?

We're in Mahogany right now, we went back once the mess in Olivine was handled.

[And she's not going to say anymore about that.]

Well, because I didn't have a special somepo- someone.

Yeah, we went back to Violet. We'd left a couple friends hanging.

[She raises both eyebrows, then lets out a soft, "Ah," of comprehension.]

I gotcha. Well... I've never had someone to spend it with, either. Not specifically, I mean. It's more fun to make stuff for my friends, anyway.

That's a good attitude to have. Not really compatible with how the holiday was celebrated in Equestria, but it seems to work just fine here.

[And she kind of prefers it that way, really.]

Yeah. Well, I guess that works out, then. Since having someone to spend days like that with is too much trouble as it is. I'm happier like this.

[She says so, and she wants to think she believes it, too.]

So yeah, I can send you guys some chocolate. Are you still traveling with Applejack and Dash?

I had seen them earlier on a friend's feed, it was just surely a shock that one came crashing in here- and by itself at that. They usually come in swarms.

[But they did make quite a scene, didn't they?] Tenten is an excellent cook!

Both valid points. Though I'd think a swarm of the little creatures would be a bit more something to worry about. You know, if they were actually interested in attacking.

I haven't heard or seen anything about any of these little guys actually attacking. Actually, I don't think I recall ever seeing these in the first place.

No, I don't think anyone else has either. I believe we may be witnessing the arrival of a never-before-seen species, which would explain the gear being useless.

[Jane is pretty amused by the bloobers though, especially since she is sure they really aren't called bloobers.] Have you decided to catch one of them?

Nah, my friend Applejack got one, and I figured one in the group was enough. I have sort of a tendency to avoid catching the same Pokemon as my friends, with some rare exceptions.

Ah, well that would make sense if you're travelling in a group. Is it not better to have Pokemon of all different types? More to you the advantage of your group is what I mean.

Exactly. I'm hoping to keep as much of a variety as possible. With any luck I can figure out some very unique combinations of Pokemon for my teams.

Do you and your travel group ever battle together?

[Meaning they could use Pokemon to compliment one another. that would be really cool- right?]

Not officially, but we have done some experimentation. You'd be amazed what a team of a Garchomp and a Tyranitar can do.

[She's got a gleeful grin on her face and an almost manic gleam in her eye as she starts to talk pokestrategy.]

[Pokestrategy is fun to talk about! Jane has been looking into not only breeding, but what a team of trainers could do together to compliment one another.]

The idea of taking two people and building a team that compliments one another is just so wonderful. If you do any more experimentation with that I would love to know more. I think I'd be quite amazed with any combination really.

I'll remember to keep notes, maybe even do some live demonstrations if there's interest! I know both Rainbow and Applejack would be up for it if I asked them.
